Driftstone Consulting is proud to share our partnership with George Gordon Developments Ltd. (GGDL) through the brand Wicehtowak Driftstone Consulting. This partnership offers engineering and project management services to Treaty 4 territory and beyond.
GGDL’s vision is to be a leader in First Nations Business Development while working to improve the quality of life for its First Nation members. Their mission is to create wealth and advance self-determination on behalf of its community members through jobs, opportunity, and economic ventures. We are proud to play a role in this vision.
The cree word “Wicehtowak” roughly translates to “partnership with a purpose.” Through Wicehtowak Driftstone Consulting, we strive to promote not only an economic venture, but also an opportunity for experience and growth. We commit to proactively engaging in opportunities to learn about indigenous culture and issues of significance. We have partnered with GGDL to promote the engineering profession within the GGFN youth, and we have created a scholarship for GGFN students pursuing an education in engineering, architecture, or a related technology.
We commit to meaningful consultation on projects impacting indigenous groups.
We commit to building respectful and equitable relationships with indigenous groups and indigenous consultants.
We commit to helping increase indigenous representation in engineering for students and prospective employees.
We commit to seeking out learning opportunities for our staff.
Most importantly, we commit to continually asking “What more can we do?”
